CES 2015: Galaxy S6 rumoured to be behind closed doors at CES 2015

We had expected first word of the Galaxy S6 to land later in 2015, but the phone is reportedly being shown already at CES 2015.

SamMobile writes that both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be demonstrated at the show, but only to the entitled eyes of "selected partners".

Unless one of these partners betrays Samsung's trust it's possible we'll learn nothing new from this showcase. We imagine these partners will be carrier contacts, rather than highly regarded tech journalists and bloggers keen to blab to the wider world.

Leak #2

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is certainly getting closer, though. A tutorial video posted on YouTube shows something that could be a render of the upcoming phone.

It's a device with smaller bezels, and potentially a larger screen than the Galaxy S5's. Some surveys suggest 5.5 inches.

However, as the video was posted by SamsungTomorrow rather than an official Samsung channel, it could easily be simple Photoshop fakery.

While CES 2015 might seem an obvious time to launch the Samsung Galaxy S6, March marks the one-year anniversary of the Galaxy S5 and Samsung likes to give its biggest phones their own show these days.

The Galaxy S6 is expected to feature a QHD Super AMOLED screen, 64-bit processor and bits of real metal in its bodywork, rather than just chrome-coloured plastic.

It has a big task ahead of it, with a downturn in sales during 2014 having rubbed much of the shine off Samsung's own chrome-shiny sales image.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is expected to be a step on from the Galaxy Note Edge, using curved display edges on both sides of the device.

According to GforGames, Samsung is to position the Edge version as a 'limited edition' model, with a forecast of 'just' 10 million units to be sold during 2015.
