There's no information on release date or price but take a look at the new luxury G Watch Urbane which will help LG in the upcoming fight against the hotly anticipated Apple Watch. The move follows Sony's steel edition of the SmartWatch 3.

The all metal LG G Watch Urbane is pictured with a leather strap and will be available in silver or gold models – although not actually made from the precious metals. LG is aiming it at 'sophisticated and cosmopolitan' consumers.

The G Watch R is a £225 watch so we expect the Urbane edition to fetch a price similar to that of the design-focused Withings Activité which has an asking price of £320.

Apart from the design change, the Urbane has the same specifications as the regular G Watch R. That means it uses a 1.3in P-OLED display, a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 4GB of internal storage and 512 MB of RAM. It also has an optical heart rate monitor on the back side.

We expect LG to announce release date and pricing for the G Watch Urbane at MWC 2015 in Barcelona where it may or may not unveil the LG G4 smartphone. At the mobile focused show, HTC is expected to announce its first wearable device.
