Motorola Moto E 2015 UK release date, price and specs: When is the new Moto E coming out?

A leaked image purports to depict the new Motorola Moto E budget smartphone, which looks to be gaining a front camera and noise-cancelling mic. Here's where we discuss the 2015 Moto E's potential UK release date and price, plus specs rumours. Read our original Motorola Moto E review.

A leaked image from Android Policeclaims to show how the new Motorola Moto E will look. It is assuming that the photos depict the Moto E rather than Moto G, given the lack of a second speaker grille and LED flash. Also see: Moto E vs Moto G comparison.

If this is the new Moto E, Motorola's budget phone is set to gain a front-facing camera and a noise-cancelling mic.

The original Moto E has a 4.3in qHD (540x960, 256ppi) display and ran Android KitKat 4.4. Inside is a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 chip, 1GB of RAM, Adreno 302 graphics, 4GB of storage (plus microSD support up to 32GB) and a 1980mAh battery. The Moto E supports 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS, although connectivity maxes out at 3G - something that potentially could change with the new Moto E. The phone measures 65x125x12.3mm and weighs 142g.

Motorola Moto E UK release date: When is the new Moto E coming out?

Nothing is yet known about the Motorola Moto E's release date, but the fact this image even exists suggests it will be soon. We wouldn't be at all surprised to see Motorola take the wraps off its new Moto E at this year's Mobile World Congress, which begins in Barcelona on 2 March. We'll update this article once more details are known. Also see: Motorola Moto E vs Nokia Lumia 530.

Motorola Moto E UK price: How much will the new Moto E cost?

Motorola's original Moto E cost £89, and this looks to us to be a similarly cheap device. Until we have more details on its specification it is impossible to guess whether this will, like last year's Moto G, see a small price increase. However, the whole point of this phone is that you get a nice-looking handset with a usable spec at a budget price, so we'd be amazed if it came in above £100. Again, we will update this article once more details are known.
