Samsung Galaxy S4 phones start getting a lick of Android 5.0 Lollipop

Just because the Samsung Galaxy S4 is starting to look a little long in the tooth doesn't mean it's going to miss out on Android 5.0 Lollipop - S4 handsets are beginning to get the update, though only in a few markets right now.

Dutch website TechTastic has updated its Samsung Galaxy S4 with Android 5.0 Lollipop to find out what's new with Samsung's 2013 flagship handset.

The new "Material Design" look of Android 5.0 Lollipop is present and correct, and Samsung has updated the look of its own apps to fit in well with the overall aesthetic.

Sweet features

The Galaxy S4 also benefits from notifications on the home screen, longer battery life and improved performance thanks to a number of new features and tweaks that are included in Android 5.0 Lollipop.

TechTastic has also created a video that shows a Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 5.0 Lollipop versus one running Android 4.4.2 KitKat, giving us a closer look at how the lollipop-flavoured Android will run on the Samsung Galaxy S4.
