The name of the device is yet to be decided but until that happens we're calling it the Galaxy S6 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: Release date and price

Samsung will almost certainly launch the Galaxy S6 at a press event in Barcelona for MWC 2015. We're looking forward to it and we'll be there to bring you all the news. We've reached a point where one flagship smartphone normally isn't enough with even Apple launching multiple iPhones at once. See: What to expect from MWC 2015.

Alongside the Galaxy S6, there are a few variations which Samsung is rumoured to launch including a Galaxy S6 mini, Galaxy S6 Active and the Galaxy S6 Edge. The latter is what we're interested in here and would follow on from the Galaxy Note Edge. which was announced at IFA 2014 last September.

It's at the MWC Unpacked event (yet to be announced) where Samsung is most likely to announce the Galaxy S6 Edge.

In terms of price we expect the Galaxy S6 Edge to be extremely pricey. The Note Edge is one of the most expensive devices you can buy so the £600-700 mark seems likely.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: Specs and features

The Galaxy Note Edge is one of the most interesting phones we've seen in a long time with the display curved down one side – as you can see in the main image. Well the Galaxy S6 Edge might take things a step further.

According to SamMobile, the device will have two edge displays – one down either side of the handset. Interestingly LG showed off a device with exactly this feature at CES this year in Las Vegas. See the image below and you'll get a good idea of what the Galaxy S6 Edge might look like.

Little is known about the specs of the rumoured Galaxy S Edge but we expect it to closely match the regular Galaxy S6.

The information provided by SamMobile suggests the phone will run similar software to the Note Edge but with additional features. For starters you'll be able to choose which side is the main edge panel based on whether you're right or left handed. Glance Lighting will supposedly light up the edge area when you get calls or notifications when you turn it over.

Furthermore, you'll be able to assign colours to favourite contacts so you know who's contacting you via the colour of the edge.

That's all the information available on the Galaxy S6 Edge at the moment. We will update this article as soon as we hear anything more though so stay tunes.
