Netflix is pressing ahead with its plans to become the new HBO in late-2017.

The video on demand service already has a string of hit shows on its books and later this month 29 new and existing products will be added to its books.

That’s right: 29 new, original TV shows and films will be hitting Netflix this month, solidifying the company’s commitment to growing beyond its original remit of merely being a conduit for existing intellectual property.

Netflix’s main competition, Amazon, has also been investing heavily in content throughout the past few years, but Netflix has had greater success with hit shows like House of Cards, Better Call Saul, Narcos, and Stranger Things.

Striking while the iron’s hot is key to ensuring prolonged growth and Netflix is seriously putting its money where its much is with big investments in content, new initiatives, and new projects across the board.
